Our expertise
Curtains, Blinds and Interiors Services in Cork
Seven things come out of this shop: curtains, blinds, poles, and tracks, upholstery, and furniture, carpets, wallpaper, and a full design service. Most of it is made or fitted by our own people. Here is what each one covers.
The short version
What We Make Ourselves and What We Only Fit
Worth saying plainly, because it changes what you can ask for. Curtains, Roman blinds, pelmets, cushions, headboards, and bedspreads are made in our own workroom.
Roller blinds, Venetians, carpets, the hardware and the accessories are bought in from makers we have used for years, then measured and fitted by our own fitters. Nothing gets posted to you in a box to sort out yourself.

Capabilities
Curtains

Made-to-Measure Curtains
The core of the business. You pick the cloth from the books, we measure the window, and the pair is cut and sewn to that window.
Headings, linings, interlining, pelmets, swags, and tails all get decided before a metre is ordered, because each one changes how much cloth the job takes. Full detail on curtains made to measure in Cork is on its own page.

Blinds
Blinds of Every Type
Roller, Roman, Venetian, wood weave, pleated, Plisse, Facette, Vitesse, Colonial, Austrian, Silhouette, and Duette.
Which one you want depends less on taste than on the room. A steamy bathroom, a sunny kitchen and a child's bedroom all want different things. The page on blinds fitted across Cork goes through them one by one.
Hardware
Curtain Poles, Rails and Tracks
Our quiet speciality. Eleven suppliers on the wall, including Silent Gliss, Integra, plus Byron and Byron, Star poles and Resina.
Bay bends, long runs, corded, hand drawn and electric. If you have a window nobody else could hang, the page on curtain poles and tracks is the one to read.

Furniture
Upholstery and Furniture Made to Order
Bring in a chair and we will tell you honestly whether the frame is worth the fabric.
We re-cover armchairs, sofas, and dining seats, and we build new sofas, chairs, headboards, and bedspreads to order. See what upholstery in Cork actually involves.
Accessories

Lamps, Mirrors and Console Tables
A room gets finished by the last few things you put in it, and those are the things people leave until the budget is gone.
We keep a selected range of lamps, mirrors, console tables and giftware in the showroom. They are picked to sit with the cloth and the paper on the shelves beside them, so a lamp you like is a lamp that will work with what you have just ordered for the window.

Walls
Wallpaper and Wall Coverings
Vinyls, wovens, printed papers and fabric coverings, in hundreds of books that get swapped out as ranges change.
We will work out the rolls with you off the room sizes. Everything about buying wallpaper in Cork here, including what we do not do, is on that page.
Design
Interior Design for a Whole Room
When the job is a room rather than a window, this is where it starts. Colour, cloth, paper, floor and light get planned as one thing.
It runs for homes and for commercial rooms, and it works off your plans if you have them. See what an interior designer in Cork does with a showroom behind them.
Process
How a Job Runs From First Call to Fitting
Ring or call in. We talk about the room, and you look at cloth. If you want a measure, a fitter calls out and takes the sizes.
You get one price for the whole job. Fabric is ordered, the workroom makes it up, and the same fitter comes back to hang it. Reckon on three to four weeks for curtains, and ask about a date if you have one. Start with a quote for curtains or blinds.
Questions About What We Do
These come up most often before people call in. Anything else is quicker on the phone.
Six things
F.A.Q.
Do you charge for measuring?
Ring and ask before you book, because it depends on the job and how far out you are. We will tell you on the phone.
Can I buy fabric on its own?
Plenty of people buy cloth here and sew it themselves, or bring it to their own maker. The same books cover curtains in Cork and the upholstery ranges.
Do you fit things bought somewhere else?
Sometimes, depending what it is. Ring with the details for a straight answer, and ask about blinds in Cork if what you have will not do the job.
Is there a minimum order?
One blind for one window is a normal job here. Nothing is too small to be worth doing.
Is it cheaper to have curtains or blinds?
A blind usually costs less for the same window. An interlined curtain does far more for heat, so the cheaper option is not always the better one for a cold room.
Are curtains over blinds still in style?
Both together is the most common thing we fit now, with a blind for the day and curtains for the evening. It also gives you two levels of light control.
What is the current trend for window coverings?
Plainer cloth with texture doing the work, wave headings, and poles hung higher than the frame. The sample books turn over often, so ask for what came in lately.
Next step
One phone call covers all of it. Say what the window is doing and we will take it from there.
