Curtain and Blind Shop in Cork

The shop

O'Mahony Interiors is a curtain and blind shop on Bridge Street in Enniskeane, west of Bandon. Curtains are cut and sewn in our own workroom. Blinds and poles are measured and fitted by our own fitters. Ring 023 884 7123.

The short answer

Curtains, Blinds and Interiors, Made and Fitted

You choose your cloth in the showroom on Bridge Street, your windows are measured in your own house, and the finished job is hung by our own fitters. Curtains are cut and sewn in our own workroom rather than sent away.

Carpets, wallpaper, upholstery, lamps, and mirrors are all in the same shop, so a whole room can be put together in one visit instead of five. Everything the shop makes and fits is set out on the curtains and blinds services page.

Curtains Sewn in Our Own Workroom

Most people walk in not knowing what they want. You can sit with the fabric books as long as you like, and nobody will hover over you.

The pair is cut to your window, not to a size on a box. We take the drop, agree the heading, cut the lining and sew the pair to those numbers. So when you ask about curtains made to measure in Cork, you are asking about work our own curtain makers do by hand.

Blinds

Blinds for Every Window in the House

A blind often fixes a window a curtain cannot. Over a sink. In a shower room. On a window facing the road, where you want the light but not the audience.

Roller, Roman, Venetian, wood weave, pleated, Duette, and Silhouette are all kept. There are blinds fitted across Cork by our vans most weeks of the year, and the fitters bring the drill with them.

Poles and tracks

Poles and Tracks for Awkward Windows

This is the part of the shop people do not expect. The curtain poles and tracks range runs from Silent Gliss and Integra to Byron and Byron.

Bay bends. Long runs. Corded, hand drawn or electric, wired to a switch or a remote. If a window has already beaten two other shops, bring us the sizes.

Wallpaper and the Sample Book Library

There are hundreds of sample books stacked along the wall, and they change as new ranges land. Bring a cushion, a paint chip or a photo on your phone.

Our wallpaper in Cork comes from Sanderson, Zoffany, Harlequin, Designers Guild and the rest. Take the books home for the weekend if you want to live with a paper before you buy it.

Upholstery

Chairs and Sofas Worth Re-Covering

A good frame is worth keeping. Strip it, sort the springs, put new cloth on it, and it will see out another twenty years.

Chairs for upholstery in Cork come in for armchairs, sofas, and dining chairs. We also build sofas, chairs, and headboards from scratch in any fabric on the shelf.

Whole Rooms Planned From the Floor Up

Sometimes the problem is not one window. It is the whole room, and nothing in it agrees with anything else.

That is the point of an interior designer in Cork who has a showroom behind the advice. Fabric, paper, carpet, furniture, and lighting get picked together, in front of you, off shelves in the same building. Lamps, mirrors, and console tables sit on those shelves too.

The Towns Our Fitters Drive To

Bandon is fifteen minutes. Dunmanway is sixteen. Clonakilty is eighteen. Kinsale and Skibbereen are both under forty.

Those are measured drive times from the shop door, not guesses. The towns we cover across West Cork run from Kinsale in the east out to Skibbereen, and north as far as Cork city.

Since the eighties

Over Forty Years on Bridge Street

This shop has been here more than forty years. In that time the work has gone into houses, hotels, restaurants, offices, and show houses for builders around Munster.

One customer wrote that curtains he bought here fifteen years ago still look good. That is the case for curtain makers on Bridge Street over a website with a size chart.

What Customers Say About the Range

One reviewer put it as a "Fantastic range of fabrics and accessories", which is usually what people notice first walking in off Bridge Street. The same range is what the wallpaper in Cork shelves and the upholstery in Cork books are drawn from.

Questions People Ring About

These are the questions the phone gets most. Anything else is quicker to ask than to read. Anything about a particular town is answered on the areas we cover page.

F.A.Q.

Do you make the curtains yourselves?

We do. They are cut and sewn in our own workroom by our own curtain makers.

Will someone come out and measure?

Our own fitters measure in your house or your premises, then come back to hang the finished job. Two visits for most jobs.

How far do you travel?

Across West Cork and mid Cork, out as far as Skibbereen, Kinsale and Cork city. Ring and ask about your own town.

Can I call in without an appointment?

Any time we are open. Tuesday to Friday, half nine to one and two to half five. Saturday, ten to one and two to four.

Do you take on commercial work?

Hotels, restaurants, offices and builders' show houses are a steady part of the year. Contract fabric and upholstery in Cork for heavy use are both normal work.

Do you supply carpets?

Carpets are part of the range alongside the curtains and the blinds, and the Google profile lists the shop as a carpet store. Ask at the counter for what is in stock.

Can I get everything for one room in a single visit?

That is the usual reason people come to Enniskeane rather than shopping around. Fabric, paper, hardware and accessories are all under one roof, and an interior designer in Cork can plan the lot with you.
