Services

Blinds in Cork, Measured and Fitted

We supply and fit blinds anywhere in Cork: roller, Roman, Venetian, wood weave, pleated, Silhouette, and Duette. A fitter measures your window, the blind is made to that size, and the same fitter comes back to hang it. Ring 023 884 7123.

What a Blind Job in Cork Involves

You pick the type and the fabric in the showroom, a fitter measures your window, and the finished blind is hung by the same person who measured it. Most rooms are done in one visit each way.

Every kind here is made or supplied to your opening rather than bought to a standard size, so a wide window, a deep reveal or a door you still need to walk through are all normal.

Roller

Roller Blinds

The plainest blind and usually the cheapest way to sort a window. Plain cloth, patterned cloth, blackout, or a screen fabric that kills the glare and keeps the view.

Good over a sink. Good in a shower room. Good on any window where a curtain would only get in the way of something. Chain on the left or the right, whichever suits the room.

Roman

Roman Blinds

A Roman folds up into soft pleats and reads far more like a curtain than a blind. Ours are made in our own workroom.

Because they are made by the same people as the curtains, they can be made in the same cloth. One fabric on the window, the chair and the cushions pulls a room together fast. They can be lined, blackout lined or interlined.

Slats

Venetian and Wooden Blinds

A Venetian tilts, which is the whole trick on a window facing a road or a neighbour. You keep the light and lose the view in.

Aluminium slats suit a bathroom or a utility, where damp would ruin timber. Real wood suits a sitting room or a study. Slat width changes the look more than people expect, so look at both in the shop before you decide.

Natural

Wood Weave and Natural Blinds

Wood weave rolls up in a natural woven texture and warms a room that has gone flat and grey. It filters light rather than blocking it.

It is the blind people pick when the room has a lot of white in it and needs something with grain. It can be lined if you need the light stopped as well.

Fabric systems

Pleated, Duette and Silhouette Blinds

Silhouette holds soft fabric vanes between two sheers, so daylight comes through with the hardness taken out of it.

Duette is a honeycomb cell that traps a layer of air, which helps on a cold window or a rooflight. Pleated blinds do a tidy job on small openings and awkward shapes where nothing square will fit.

Room by room

Which Blind Suits Which Room

Kitchens want something wipeable and well clear of the hob. Bathrooms want a fabric that does not mind steam.

Bedrooms usually want blackout, and a blackout roller behind a curtain is still the cheapest way to get a child to sleep through a bright June morning. Tell the fitter what the room is for and you will get a straight recommendation.

Process

How the Measure and the Fit Work

You can bring in your own sizes, or a fitter can call out and take them. We would rather take them ourselves, because a blind cut two centimetres wrong is scrap.

The fitter checks the recess, the reveal, the handles and anything else in the way. Then the blind is made to those numbers and hung on a second visit. Our fitters cover curtains and blinds in Bandon, Clonakilty, and Dunmanway most weeks.

Why here

Why Buy Your Blinds Here

You are dealing with the shop that measures, supplies and hangs the blind, so there is nobody to blame if something is out. Your Roman blinds are sewn in the same workroom as the curtains, which is why they can be made in the cloth you already chose.

Nothing gets ordered until you have seen the fabric against your own wall. Take the sample home for the weekend first.

Questions About Buying Blinds

These are what people ask at the counter before ordering. Anything else is quicker on the phone.

Cost

What a Blind Costs Against a Curtain

A blind is nearly always the cheaper answer. There is less fabric in it, no lining to sew and no track to buy.

Where curtains win is warmth and softness, which is why a lot of rooms end up with both: a blackout roller in the recess and curtains made to measure in Cork on the outside.

Next step

Book a Blind Measure in Cork

Call in and look at the fabric in daylight, or ring 023 884 7123 and we will send a fitter out.

If you want the blind and the curtains in the same cloth, say so at the measure and we will make them together. You can also ask for a quote for curtains or blinds with your own sizes.

F.A.Q.

Can you make a blind in the same fabric as my curtains?

We do. Roman blinds are made in our own workroom, so any curtain fabric in the shop can be made up as a blind.

Do you fit blinds into a recess or outside it?

Either. The fitter looks at the window and tells you which suits that reveal, and the same visit can price curtain poles in Cork if you want both.

Are your blinds child safe?

Chains and cords are fitted with the safety devices the standards require, as a matter of course rather than on request.

Can you replace the blind fabric and keep the mechanism?

Sometimes. Bring the blind in and we will look at it before you buy a whole new one.

What is the average cost of blinds for a 3-bedroom house in Ireland?

It depends on the type and the sizes, so no honest figure fits every house. Bring your window sizes to the counter and you get one price for the whole job rather than a guess per room.

Should blinds be lighter or darker than the walls?

Lighter tends to recede and darker tends to frame the window. Take the sample home and look at it in your own light before deciding, because a showroom lamp flatters everything.

What is the best type of blind for a modern living room?

A pleated or a wave-headed roller suits a plain modern room, and a wood weave warms one up. Your window size and how much glare you get matter more than the trend.

Which is cheaper, blinds or curtains?

A blind usually costs less for the same window, though an interlined curtain does far more for heat. We make curtains in Cork as well, so you can price both at the one counter.

Bring the sizes, or let a fitter take them. Either way you get a date at the measure for blinds.
